The Importance of Event Massage
One of the reasons why an event massage is important arises from the fact that it is much easier to treat any strains or cramps immediately following a specific activity. This will help to prevent further problems such as pain and discomfort in the coming days. Furthermore, this type of sports massage may also detect any possible injuries that the recipient might not be aware of. These techniques are excellent ways to ensure that all participants can walk away from a specific competition knowing they may have a quicker recovery time.
Embracing a Hands-On Approach
From marathons to rugby matches and countless other events, the chances of succumbing to a sports injury always exist. A pre- or post-event massage can therefore be an effective tool at the disposal of teams and individual participants.
Is a competition scheduled soon? If so, it is always wise to schedule a session with West Berkshire Injury Clinic sooner as opposed to later (we are quite busy throughout the year catering for these massages). We look forward to hearing from you and as always, feel free to ask any additional questions that you may have.

Pitchside Support and Therapy Support for Clubs
If you are an amateur, semi-professional or a professional club, having the support of a therapist is a leg-up on the competition.
We are fully qualified and able to assist on training and pitchside support. We are Trauma qualified which means that we can provide team support for a club on match days and therapy sessions during training.
We are currently working with Hungerford RFC, Newbury RFC and the Berkshire RFU as well as various cricketing and football teams including Burbage and Royal Easton Cricket Club.
In 2013, the Berkshire Under 20’s reached the final of the county championship and won, got to the final in 2015 and again in 2019. WBIC have been supporting training events and match days, providing pre-match preparation and pitch side team support alongside other therapists and clinics.
We are willing to work in all other areas of sports, with experience working in football, cycling, athletics and running clubs. If you are looking for team support on an ad hoc or regular basis, please contact us today. Terms can be discussed and negotiated on a case by case basis.
A view on team and club support
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. This maxim is just as relevant when referring to team competitions and similar sporting events. One of the primary intentions of management should therefore revolve around always ensuring the welfare of their players. Proactive sports therapy solutions should be considered a priority.
The Benefits of an On-Site Sports Massage
It needs to be stressed that the severity of any sports injury will often depend upon how quickly it is identified and subsequently treated. This is naturally important on the day of the event itself (such as if a player experiences a sudden trauma). However, West Berkshire Injury Clinic also provides our professionals before the competition and throughout your training sessions. We will likewise be pleased to work in tandem with your existing trainers and therapists so that all players will enjoy a well-rounded approach to injury treatment and prevention.
