Supporting you whole team

Recreational and professional athletes are always at risk of getting injured during a sporting event. We provide first aid cover and/or post-event massage to clients Berkshire and surrounding areas.

Treatments and care

West Berkshire Injury Clinic can provide therapists to support events in different ways. We believe strongly that our role, whether it is providing pre/mid/post event massage or treatment, event first aid or direct event support is to keep people participating and not to prevent people from participating. Providing it is safe and in the best interest of the participant.

Pre/Mid/Post Event Therapy
We have a number of therapists who can provide this service and are experienced in helping participants

• Prepare for the event, warming people up, taping (if needed) and providing general advice

• Helping people to recover after completion of an event.

We use a mixture of Osteopaths, Sports Massage Therapists, Soft Tissue Therapists, Sports Therapists and Physiotherapists for the event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please find below some of our frequently asked questions about our event support services – you can find even more FAQs in our full FAQs section.

What is event support?

Event support / pitchside first aid incorporates immediate trauma care and sports injury management by professionally registered therapists.

Do you offer first aid cover?

Yes, we provide first aid cover for small and large events. Wehave a lot of experience working on multi-location events specifically cycling events. We provide all equipment to take the hassle away from you and the provision is included in any charge made

What sporting events do you cover?

West Berkshire Injury Clinic has assisted with many sporting events, including cycling, rugby and running events, many half marathons and endurance runs. As a result, we have a lot of experience in assisting in the aches and pains immediately following an event.

Who can benefit from event massage?

Event massage is important because it is much easier to treat any strains or cramps immediately following a specific activity. This will help to prevent further problems such as pain and discomfort in the coming days. Furthermore, this type of sports massage may also detect any possible injuries that the recipient might not be aware of. These techniques are excellent ways to ensure that all participants can walk away from a specific competition knowing they may have a quicker recovery time.

Do you offer pitchside support?

We are fully qualified and able to assist on training and pitchside support. We are Trauma qualified which means that we can provide team support for a club on match days and therapy sessions during training. We are currently working with Hungerford RFC, Newbury RFC and the Berkshire RFU as well as various cricketing and football teams including Burbage and Royal Easton Cricket Club.

What our patients say about us

  • My name is Rhys Morgan I am Head of Rugby at Ilkley RFC. This season saw our 7s team qualify for the National finals at London Irish vis Olney. On the day we had to rely on the tournament cover due to finances. This transpired to be a stroke of luck as we were adopted on the day by Andy Sparks. He managed in this time to rectify a couple of players that had re occurring injuries and even became our match cover. Andy’s professionalism and enthusiasm was a credit to him and I have no doubt assisted us on the day to qualify for the national finals at Bath. The next shock was that as he also had enjoyed the day volunteered to attend as our cover the finals. This turned out to be a fairy tail ending and the newly formed relationship saw Ilkley lift the total as the only Club side in the event. Since this day Andy has even covered a Tuesday night session at Ilkley when he was just passing through coincided with our own medical covers absence , the 7s lads welcomed him with open arms . He will always have a place in Ilkley now thank you Andy .
